Search Queries
A name or place entered in a search tool is transmitted directly to the outside provider operating that tool. The provider processes the request and supplies its results. We do not keep or log those query terms on our own systems.
Messages and Contact Submissions
An email sent to us may be retained long enough to answer and maintain the related correspondence. It remains within our organization unless disclosure is required by law.
Data We Gather Automatically
When a page loads, the servers automatically receive standard technical details about that visit:
- The IP address assigned to your device
- Which browser you are using and its version
- Your device type and operating system
- The pages you visited and how long you stayed on each
- The site that sent you here, if any
- Timestamps for each page view

No Criminal-Record Data on File
Duchesne County Criminal History does not keep, assemble, or sell a database of personal criminal records. It publishes general instructions for reaching the sheriff, district and justice courts, Utah Department of Public Safety, Bureau of Criminal Identification, and the Utah Sex, Kidnap, and Child Abuse Offender Registry. This site is not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act. Visitor data is not compiled into consumer reports or third-party criminal profiles.
Third-Party Search Partners
Outside companies operate the site's search boxes. Information entered there is governed by the selected partner's privacy policy rather than this policy. Each partner controls its own retention and disclosure practices. Review those terms before sending a query.
Links to Other Websites
Links may lead to sheriff pages, Utah Courts, state agencies, legal resources, or outside search services. Once a visitor follows an external link, the destination's privacy rules control that visit. Read them before providing personal information.
Some advertising providers may track activity between sites to select ads. That processing takes place through the provider's systems.
Who Might See Your Data
We do not sell personal information. Data may nevertheless be received by:
- Search partners that handle queries you run on our site
- Analytics services we use to track traffic and performance
- Ad networks that place ads on our pages
- Law enforcement or government bodies when a valid legal order requires it
How We Protect Your Data
Reasonable security practices are used to protect collected data. No internet-connected system can be guaranteed secure, so we cannot promise that a breach will never occur.
Users Under 18
The site is intended for adults and does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If data from a minor is identified, we will delete it after receiving notice.
Your Data Rights
Depending on residence and the law that applies, privacy or consumer-protection rules may provide additional rights. Utah government records are separately governed by GRAMA, Utah Code Title 63G, Chapter 2, while Utah Code § 53-10-108 limits BCI criminal-history dissemination. Those public-record laws do not turn this private site into a government custodian. Requests concerning site data may include the ability to:
- Ask for a copy of what we have on file about you
- Have us fix information that is wrong
- Request that we erase your data
- Opt out of certain kinds of data processing
